A handful of the JFCA Saints Baseball team, in particular Charlie Moore, Ryan Plunk, Zach and Braden Heacock, and Nate Jenkins, took time out of their weekend to volunteer with Noonday Baptist Church’s youth baseball ministry. Noonday Baseball is a developmental rec ball league that has a very large ministry outreach to underprivileged kids in the community. The Saints helped the 9-12 year old participants learn pitching and catching skills and discussed staying positive in a sport where failure is a regular occurrence.

Pat Jenkins, father of returning Saints catcher Nate Jenkins (Jr.) helped with the event and had this to say about the Saints, “All of the kids left the event as better ballplayers and with a heightened awareness of Christ’s love because of the Saints.”

1 Thessalonians 2:8 “,so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”

Ryan loved being a part of this special event! He enjoyed teaching and sharing his love of baseball with these kids. It is always good when you can give back, thank you for this opportunity for him to share his skills with a new generation.
