The Saints continued their home stretch this past Friday in which they managed to fend off an hour and fifty minute lightning delay to secure their second straight win. The team trailed the Coastal Homeschool Hurricanes 0-12 with 9 minutes remaining in the second quarter when rain and lightning postponed the game. Regular lightning prevented the teams from retaking the field until after a long delay. A quick warm-up on the field and the teams were back at it.

The break suited the Saints as they quickly offset early offensive missteps with several crucial 4th down stands. The offense quickly followed step to cut the lead to 14-20 going in to the half with a late touchdown. The second half was all Saints as the defense shut out the Hurricanes and the offense took and then padded the lead. The Saints defense was led by junior Sam Mullins and senior Joseph Lambert with 12 tackles each. The offense was well balanced with 108 rushing yards and 145 passing yards. Senior Evan Lambert led the way with 105 receiving yards on 4 catches including 1 touchdown.

The Saints travel to Kings Way Christian School this Friday with a record of 2-2 and looking to continue to improve as the region schedule quickly approaches.

Be sure to catch the Saints back in action at Lassiter High School for JFCA Homecoming on Friday, September 28th!
